The Nairobi mayoral candidate that is now dominating the polls has been identified by Trends and Insights Africa (TIFA).

The two front-runners in the Nairobi governor’s campaign are senator from Nairobi Johnson Sakaja and business mogul Polycarp Igathe.

With 40% of respondents backing him, Sakaja, a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate, is still the front-runner for the governor of Nairobi position, according to the TIFA survey.

Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya’s Polycarp Igathe, who has 32 percent of the vote, is closely behind Sakaja.

The poll states that the race for senator is now considerably tighter than it was two months ago, with Senator Johnstone Sakaja of the UDA only barely ahead of his major rival, Polycarp Igathe of Jubilee (40 percent vs. 32 percent).

A telephone poll was used to gather the data, with each call lasting seven minutes.
