Mark Mugambi, a member of the County Assembly (MCA) from Umoja Umoja One, has been accused of being attacked by thugs hired by Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja.

Mugambi said that the incident occurred as a result of his assertiveness in the oversight function, which enraged Governor Johnson Sakaja, in an interview with one of the local TV stations on Thursday, shortly after receiving bandages.

“They sent goons to attack me, and that really disturbs me. My attack this morning was prepared by Gaucho and Baraka. They snatched my watch and tore my t-shirt, said Mugambi.

He added that Minority Leader Anthony Kiragu had warned him that preparations were afoot to attack him and advised him to keep safe.

He claimed that he only saw it as a threat and didn’t anticipate them to follow through on it until the thugs attacked him this morning.

Mugambi criticized the governor, alleging that despite attending multiple meetings, he has not started any projects.

The same top officers were in Naivasha last week, and this week they are in Panari, and he has invited MCAs to a meeting over the weekend, the man claimed.
