Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is holding nationwide demonstrations starting today at Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi, and President William Ruto has identified the men and women supporting such events.
Raila, who is scheduled to arrive today from South Africa, will speak at a massive gathering in Kamukunji and expose how President William Ruto was unfairly given the presidency on August 9, 2022.
The president claimed the demonstration, which he labeled a protest, is the brainchild of rogue players in the agriculture sector who are angry that his government is attempting to weed them out in a speech during an interdenominational church service on Sunday at Kirinyaga Stadium, Kirinyaga County.
Because farmers are the most reliable alternatives for our intervention in food security, we must make sure that their businesses are growing. Because of our effort to eliminate cartels, these cartels and corrupt individuals in the coffee, tea, and milk industries are funding the protests, claimed Ruto.
The chief of state advised the alleged cartels to go with the “protest,” but he also forewarned them that their time is running out.
However they choose to demonstrate, they must leave farmers alone. They are free to fund whatever they want, but our farmers must never become the property of brokers and cartels that have taken our market hostage, the man stated.
