Dr. Oburu Odinga, a senator for Siaya County, has disclosed why Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio One Kenya Alliance party, lost the presidential election last year despite receiving a lot of backing from infamous deep state and state personnel.

Raila lost, according to Dr. Oburu, Raila’s older brother, because he relied on the deep state without being aware that Ruto had compromised the security apparatus, particularly the National Intelligence Service, on Thursday (NIS).

Oburu stated, “We used to believe that ‘The System’ was all about the President, but we later learned that Ruto had seized control of other aspects of ‘The System,’ including security.

In his view, President Ruto was a former member of the NSC and was therefore aware of all of Azimio’s activities.

“We expelled Ruto from the government, but we had no idea that he was well-established and had gained control of a number of positions within Uhuru’s administration. Ruto used to attend all security planning meetings and was knowledgeable about how everything operated, according to Oburu.

The seasoned politician added that Raila’s campaign, which primarily relied on the Cherera four commissioners, would have suffered catastrophically if Wafula Chebukati, the former chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), had not been removed.

“Our strategy was that Chebukati was prohibited from making independent decisions by law. We felt at ease when the four commissioners joined him because of this.

“I had a hunch that Chebukati and the four commissioners would clash. Sadly, we did not give it a lot of attention,” Oburu added.
