Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s vice-chairman David Murathe has stated that Narc Kenya Chairperson Martha Karua is one of the components that helped him win the presidential election on August 9th.
Murathe remarked in an interview with one of the local dailies on Tuesday that since the choice of Karua as Raila Odinga’s running mate, Azimio’s political fortunes in the Mt Kenya area had improved.
According to Murathe, Karua has a devoted following, particularly among women and young girls, who perceive her as the personification of a fulfilled promise.
“The basket in Mount Kenya is around six million, but due to the Martha effect, the minimum we will obtain in Mt Kenya is four million votes,” Murathe added.
Despite his support for Raila and Karua, President Uhuru Kenyatta, according to Murathe, would not campaign for them.
