According to a latest poll conducted by the Infotrak organization, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta when he steps down in August.

According to the poll, if elections were held today, Raila Odinga would win with 42 percent of the vote.

According to the Angela Ambitho-led firm, Deputy President William Ruto came in second with 38 percent.

When the poll was released on Wednesday, Ambitho remarked that Raila’s popularity had remained stable while Ruto’s had decreased from a poll conducted in early May.

Raila also led in most counties, including all counties in Nyanza, Western, North Eastern, and Nairobi, according to the poll.

Ruto’s popularity has plummeted from the prior poll in early May, when it was at 42%. The drop, according to Ambitho, is largely due to the two presidential contenders’ choice of running partners.

Raila, the Azimo presidential candidate, is expected to receive 9.3 million votes in the August 9 election, according to the pollster.

DP Ruto, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance’s flagbearer, on the other hand, would receive 8.4 million of the total votes cast.
