Donald Trump has compared himself to former South African President Nelson Mandela, claiming that he is not afraid of being imprisoned.

The former president made the remarks on Monday night, October 23, during a campaign stop in New Hampshire. He also stated that he fantasizes about hitting Joe Biden in the face and promised to erect an Iron Dome missile defense shield over the United States.

Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years for his opposition to South Africa’s decades-long apartheid rule. After his release from prison in 1990, he became president and led the country into a new era.

Three years later, he was given the Nobel Peace Prize for his participation in the ‘peaceful termination of the apartheid regime, and for building the foundations for a new democratic South Africa.’

Trump, the Republican presidential frontrunner for 2024, talked for 100 minutes to supporters in New Hampshire, claiming that the 91 criminal accusations he is facing are part of a ‘fascist’ witch hunt conducted by Biden’s White House.

‘If you want to question an election result, they hound you,’ he said after qualifying to be on the state’s Republican primary ballot.

‘But we’re not afraid – we’re not afraid. I’ll tell you what, I don’t mind pretending to be Nelson Mandela since I’m doing it for a good cause.

‘We have to save our country from these Nazis and lunatics we’re dealing with. They’re evil people who are killing our country.’

Trump is facing four criminal indictments as well as civil trials in connection with allegations that he inflated his net worth, misclassified hush money payments to women during his 2016 campaign, illegally attempted to overturn his 2020 election loss, and hoarded classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.

The Republican congressman also recounted how Biden once stated he would take him ‘behind the gym and beat the hell out of him’ if they were both in high school.

‘I fantasize about it. ‘Do you have any idea what I’d do with him?’ Trump asked the audience as he launched a couple of small punches in the air and made sound effects.

‘I’d punch him square in the nose. He’d have plastic all over the place.’
