Matthew Perry, an American-Canadian actor, was reportedly lonely and yearning for a wife and a family when he died, after a spate of unsuccessful relationships left him feeling’sad and despondent,’ according to DailyMail.com.
The Friends star, 54, was discovered dead on Saturday, October 28, at his home in Los Angeles. According to intimate insiders, Perry yearned for children or stepchildren because of his close bond with his own stepfather, Keith Morrison.
Perry never married, and his engagement to talent manager Molly Hurwitz ended in 2021. Throughout his life, he dated a number of well-known celebrities, including Julia Roberts and Lizzy Caplan.
‘Matthew has always wanted the perfect family,’ a source close to the celebrity told DailyMail.com.
‘He desired a marriage and at least a couple of children. And he stated he wouldn’t mind marrying a woman with children.’
According to the source, “no one meant more to Perry in this world than his stepfather Keith Morrison, the host of Dateline, who married his mother in 1981.”
Suzanne and Perry’s stepfather have been happily married for 42 years.
Keith always treated him as if he were his own son, according to the actor, and it would be wonderful to give a happy life to children who belonged to someone he loved the way Keith loved his mother – and him.
Perry was also perplexed by the fact that most of his Friends co-stars seemed to avoid long-term love, according to the sources.
‘Recently, the star has been on the lookout for love. But a run of failed romances left him dejected and depressed, as if he’d never find the affection he craved.
‘Matthew dated a plethora of women. But, in the end, he had the impression that they were simply interested in his money and fame. And he was very generous.

‘In the end, I believe his years of combating demons… Drugs and alcohol… took their toll on him and his health, and he would soon find himself alone again.’
According to the source, Perry became severely ill last winter.
‘We were all concerned that he wouldn’t recover this time. He was in the hospital for nearly a month, which caused him to lose weight and appear haggard and worn out.
‘However, as Matthew always seems to do, he survived and hoped that a new career or a new woman was just around the corner.
According to the insider, “all Matt ever wanted was to be happy.”

The actor, who rose to prominence as the caustic Chandler Bing in the groundbreaking 1990s sitcom, was discovered dead at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, October 28th. At around 4 p.m. local time, emergency personnel were dispatched.
He had apparently played a two-hour game of Pickleball earlier in the day, a sport comparable to tennis but played on a smaller court, before dispatching his helper on an errand. Perry was alleged to be unresponsive in his hot tub when they returned.
