After receiving a suspended sentence, a guy who was sexually molested as a youngster by his babysitter attacked the now 80-year-old perpetrator in the face in court.

Tylor Fu, 29, testified against Richard Gross, 80, and assisted in his conviction on 26 felony counts of child sexual assault. Gross, a family friend, negotiated a plea agreement and avoided jail time: he was sentenced to probation.

Fu expressed his displeasure with the arrangement and lashed out at Gross at the October 2 sentencing, sending him to the hospital.

‘I was furious,’ he told 8 News Now.

‘I understand he’s old, but that doesn’t change anything, doesn’t change the damage he inflicted, the awful impacts I had to live with for decades, and it was not justice at all.’

Fu, a married father of two, claims he was abused from the age of eight to fifteen.

Fu’s wife gave him a news item on sexual abuse in 2019, prompting him to report the incident to authorities.

In 2021, Fu filed a complaint in Clark County District Court against Gross and his wife for assault and battery, false detention, intentional infliction of emotional distress, carelessness, and negligent supervision.

‘I tried really hard to put it behind me and go on and be strong, but as you get older, you start to realize what went wrong more, and I recognized exactly where my difficulties were coming from,’ Fu explained.

He informed the news outlet that the punishment imposed by Clark County District Court Judge Tierra Jones had stunned him.

‘It just doesn’t make sense how someone can harm a child several times and walk away with no consequences,’ he said.

Judge Jones sentenced him to 60-180 months in the Nevada Department of Corrections, which means he won’t be imprisoned unless he breaches the terms of his probation.

Fu was handcuffed and arrested for misdemeanor battery after hitting Gross, causing him to fall unconscious on the floor.

Gross stated that he temporarily lost consciousness before being transported to UMC trauma. His wife informed him that his spectacles were shattered.

Fu made no apologies for his actions.

He stated that he filed the lawsuit to encourage others to speak up and not suffer in quiet.

‘It just feels right, and I really want all the kids out there to know that if you’ve been sexually abused, it’s not right, and you need to report it,’ Fu added.

‘We cannot allow sexual abuse of children; it is without a doubt one of the worst crimes any human being can commit and must be stopped.’

Gross has now sued him for battery, and he has set up a Go Fund Me campaign to cover his legal expenses.

‘I’ve been to hell and back,’ he wrote.

‘The justice system failed me in this case by not sentencing Richard Gross to prison, despite the fact that the grand jury initially charged him with 26 felonies.

‘I know many children and adults have been abused, and I want you to know that you have the power to speak up, notify your loved ones, report your abusers to law authorities, and achieve justice.’
