According to a recent poll in Murang’a county, Raila Odinga has made significant gains in the electorally strong area, and his candidate may prevail in the August election for governor.

Jamleck Kamau of the Azimio Party, Irungu Kang’ata of the United Democratic Alliance, and Wairagu Wamai of the independent party are the three candidates running for governor of Murang’a county.

According to the Mizani poll, Raila Odinga’s candidate Jamleck Kamau would win the seat if the election were conducted today with 30.4 percent, followed by Wairagu with 26.2 percent.

Irungu Kang’ata, a candidate for Deputy President William Ruto, finished third with 25.5 percent.

The Murang’a county gubernatorial poll indicates that Azimio is the coalition to beat in Murang’a in August, so this is a significant victory for Raila Odinga and his running mate, Martha Karua.

This is a snapshot of the survey.
