In the event that he prevails in the presidential election on August 9th, Deputy President William Ruto has declared the candidate he will back for president in 2032.
Speaking at an economic event in Tharaka Nithi County, the DP informed the audience that he was preparing Tharaka Nithi Senator Prof. Kithure Kindiki for the 2032 General Election by mentoring him for a much larger position in national politics.
Kindiki was not chosen as the running partner, and Ruto urged the people not to be upset about it because he was still a young and aspiring politician.
“I know some of you were upset when I indicated Kindiki wasn’t a good candidate for the governor’s office. You want this man to run for office locally after narrowly missing out on the running mate position?
“Gachagua, Justin Muturi, and I are old people, and when we end, we’ll make room for Kindiki and other young people,” Gachagua said. Prior to that, however, we must make plans for them and advise them on how to proceed so that they can improve through mentoring. It will be their time once we have completed our ten years. Are we on the same page?” the DP held up
Kindiki had the stature, according to the second in charge, to serve at the national level.
