The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has weighed in on the ongoing discussion around the audio recording of Deputy President William Ruto threatening to strike President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 after the Court overturned their triumph.

Azimio La Umoja, one of Ruto’s opponents, played the contentious recording at multiple rallies to attack the DP, which caused a stir.

Even after calling for action against the vice president for endangering the head of state, the Azimio brigade urged the NCIC to intervene.

NCIC, however, has refuted Azimio’s assertions that Ruto’s audio leak constituted hate speech and incitement.
