During the Azimio rally yesterday, gospel singer-turned-politician Kelvin Kioko, better known by his stage name Bahati, had a difficult day.
This comes after he was roughed up and hastily escorted out of the event.
A widely shared video footage showed the Mathare MP candidate being bullied before being forcibly removed from the rally.
Top Nairobi leaders of the Azimio alliance graced the demonstration that Bahati attended, but he fled before he could address his followers.
A video of some Azimio officials motioning for the singer to leave their makeshift dais installed on their car was obtained.
Leaders who seemingly wanted Bahati out forced him down the car as they pointed at him using their hands.
As his security detail tries to step in, Bahati, who is waving the Jubilee flag, is seen getting roughed up by a group of guys after falling to the ground.
The change occurs a week after Bahati and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna got into a contentious argument.
Sifuna had revealed that Azimio has chosen Anthony Oluoch, the current Mathare MP for the ODM, to represent them in the poll on August 9.
“Zoning was executed flawlessly, even at Mathare, where we concur that an ODM is to blame. In Mathare, there is only one candidate, Oluoch. We will speak with this young man named Bahati, who is my younger brother. I’ll see to it that we get him a new job in the Azimio administration. Sifuna said
