Manchester United icon, Patrice Evra has declared the Red Devils cannot win the Premier League title this season after they suffered the joint-heaviest defeat in club history during the 7-0 mauling at the hands of rivals Liverpool on Sunday, March 7.

Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Mohamed Salah each scored twice for Liverpool in the second half of their 7-0 triumph on Sunday at Anfield. Substitute Roberto Firmino then completed the scoring.

After defeating Newcastle United at Wembley in the Carabao Cup, Erik ten Hag’s team was predicted to win a possible quadruple.

Evra, a former France defender, argues that winning the Premier League is impossible.

In Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE podcast, Evra stated;

“I never became overexcited. Although they are on the right track with this squad, they are not yet prepared [to win the Premier League]. I don’t have a delusion.

“As a United supporter, I will consider the championship, but I’ll be honest with you, I never think United will be able to win [this season] because it’s a process,” the fan said.

Evra recognized that United is a squad in transition and maintains that they are not yet prepared to contend for the crown with teams like Arsenal and Manchester City.

Ten Hag has already performed some wonders to make people forget our origins. We’ve already won a prize.

Seven goals is a lot, and you can blame the defense, but it is a million times harder to swallow against Liverpool. Of course, that is a huge loss. We must not overlook what this team is doing right now.
