After Mombasa Gubernatorial contender Mike Sonko indicated he will not back a “project,” Raila Odinga of the Azimio One Kenya Alliance has taken a significant hit.
Sonko, who was disqualified from running for the highest office by the Supreme Court, stated in a statement on Thursday that he will not endorse Mvita Member of Parliament bdulswamad Nassir Sheriff, whom he described as a deep state project.
In order to prevent his innocent running mate Ali Mbogo from being disqualified, Sonko asked the government to make sure that Mbogo is not barred from running.
Sonko added that if Ali Mbogo is defeated, he and his supporters will back Hassan Omar, a candidate for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
“We’d rаther suрроrt UDА’s Hаssаn Оmаr if my running mate Аli Mbоgо is not cleared. We аrе nоt gоіng tо suрроrt ‘sinа lа ziаdа” Sоnkо told a local TV station.
