In a message to Manchester United supporters, Marcus Rashford asked them to “quit spreading malicious rumors about his career.”

The England striker, who finished the previous season with 30 goals, has found it difficult to get back to his best this year, scoring just one goal in 14 appearances across all competitions.

Supporters have expressed concern over his play, with some even suggesting that Erik ten Hag should bench the 26-year-old.

The England striker did not play in Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Fulham for United, as Ten Hag disclosed prior to the game that he had sustained a minor injury.

The United Stand, a well-known fan channel, then released a video on Monday with the subject “Rashford’s future in doubt?”

Rashford took offense at the video and responded with a retort on social media platform X.

“Please STOP spreading malicious rumors,” the England international stated in a message.

“Given Rashford’s injury against Fulham and his recent subpar performances, the question arises: should he still be a regular starter for Manchester United?” the United Stand stated in the description of their film on YouTube.

Rashford went to the Fulham match with the team, following days after Ten Hag declared that the player had shown regret for going out late the night after United’s 3-0 victory.

In the video, Faz from the United Stand stated, “He traveled with the squad but wasn’t used (against Fulham).” It seems really intriguing to go to Fulham with the team and then not be used, but I’m not buying it.

“I believe it might have been a form of punishment from Erik ten Hag,” he continued. Everyone can currently agree that Marcus Rashford doesn’t appear happy in his body language when he goes to games.
