Israel has threatened to find and execute Hamas commander Yahya Sinwar, who is suspected of being behind the October 7 assault on Southern Israel that killed over 1,400 people.

SInwar, 61, is suspected of being based in a Hamas command and control center beneath a hospital in Gaza, which the hospital disputes.

Sinwar, as the Head of Hamas in Gaza, is the enclave’s de facto governing authority’s second most powerful member behind Ismail Haniyeh.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the commander as a “little Hitler in his bunker” with “no concern for his people” yesterday.

The Israel Defense Forces’ spokesperson, Lt Col Richard Hecht, compared Sinwar to Osama Bin Laden.

‘The face of evil is Yahya Sinwar. He is the mastermind behind this, just as Bin Laden was with 9/11,’ he claimed.

Yahya Sinwar is the leader of Hamas in Gaza, having established its intelligence and military branch, the IQB.

Last month, the IDF declared that it would look for Sinwar and other prominent Hamas officials.

Sinwar was sentenced to 426 years in prison for the 1989 murders of two Israeli soldiers.

In 2011, he was released as part of a prisoner swap with Hamas.

Sinwar and others released as part of the trade are among those accused by Israel of being engaged in the October 7 incident.

Israel has since claimed that Hamas has a headquarters beneath Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital.

On Friday, Hamas claimed that an Israeli missile strike on an ambulance convoy near the hospital killed and injured dozens of Palestinians.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza, over 9,700 Palestinians have been killed since the fighting began on October 7, with over 4,000 of them being children and minors.

More than 140 Palestinians have been killed in violence and Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank.

Over 1,400 Israelis have been dead, the majority of them in the October 7 Hamas strike that sparked the conflict, and the militant group has taken 242 Israeli hostages into Gaza.
