A 69-year-old lawyer has been named as the skydiver who died following a hard landing on a front yard.

On Saturday, Oct. 7, Frederick Morello was discovered on the lawn of a property near a Titusville airpark in Florida at 12.30 p.m.

The skilled skydiver worked as a lawyer in Daytona Beach. On his legal firm’s website, he had posted dozens of photos of himself in the sky in a section named “Fred’s passion.”

The following quotation was included in the section: “Life is measured not by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

Morello died while presumably attempting a solo parachute jump.

“The preliminary investigation revealed an adult male outfitted in parachute attire and gear was located on the lawn of a residence on the 2600 block of Merry Lane,” the police said.

Morello was declared deceased on the scene.

The accident was captured on video by a surveillance camera on the property next door.

According to Vietnam veteran James Sconiers, the skydiver landed in his front yard.

“He fell to the ground. I landed in their grass after bouncing off the driveway. “He hit the ground almost like a basketball, like someone bounced him up,” Sconiers told FOX 35 News. “It’s hard.”

According to Sconiers, he asked the guy, “Hey man, can you hear me, can you hear me?” However, there was no response.

Morello touched down just a few blocks from Skydive Space Center.

The incident is being investigated by police.
