At the 2022 MOBO Awards, musician Damini Ogulu, better known by his stage as Burna Boy, was one of the top winners.
Burna Boy, who was nominated for the MOBO Award for Best International Act along with artists like Kendrick Lamar, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Drake, and Summer Walker, won the prize.
Other nominees in this category included Tems, a rapidly emerging international artist, Jazmine Sullivan, Skilibeng, and Jack Harlow.
Burna defeated Asake, Rema, Fireboy, and Omah Lay to win the Best African Act award as well.
After his 2021 win for Best International Act, the star now has three MOBO award victories overall.
The MOBO Awards are a yearly British music award ceremony that recognizes accomplishments in “music of black origin,” such as grime, UK Drill, R&B, and other genres.
