In preparation for a prospective transfer to the Emirates, Chelsea player Kai Havertz is said to have reached a personal agreement with Arsenal.
According to a tweet from Fabrizio Romano, Mikel Arteta and the Gunners have reached an agreement. The player has long been an admirer of the Arsenal attacker.
Although a sum between the two clubs has not yet been decided, Arsenal is reportedly hopeful that the trade will be finalized after the international break.
Early this week, the 24-year-old was apparently valued at £60 million by the Gunners, who also reportedly offered a salary package of around £200,000 per week.
Havertz’s current contract at Stamford Bridge is slated to end in 2025, and Chelsea is reportedly playing hardball with their appraisal of the forward. It is thought that they are demanding a minimum of £70 million for Havertz.
In 2020, Havertz moved to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen and signed a five-year contract. The West London club outbid Manchester United and Real Madrid for the prospect’s services.
