A professor at a US institution who is suspected of engaging in bestiality with his pet dog has stated his motivations.
According to reports, Themis Matsoukas, 64, and his border collie dog were caught on surveillance footage engaging in a sexual conduct at Rothrock State Forest in Pennsylvania, USA.
Since 1991, Matsoukas has served as a professor of chemical engineering at Penn State University. He has authored several books and received prestigious teaching honors.
The Pennsylvania State University professor is allegedly seen near the restrooms in the earlier-this-year footage of the deed, naked from the waist down save for his socks and shoes.
A criminal complaint claims that upon the discovery of the video, The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources conducted an investigation and successfully identified Matsoukas using both his dog and personal goods.
The upset academician told authorities he did it to “let off steam,” according to a Fox43 story.
On Tuesday, June 13, he was accused of open lewdness, indecent exposure, having sex with an animal, and summary charges of animal cruelty and disorderly behavior.
After using several items from the video, including his collie, a North Face bag, a ski mask, and an electronic tablet to identify the teacher, investigators allegedly caught him in the act in May.
A warrant was executed to search Matsoukas’ house, and according to documents related to his charges, Matsoukas “became visibly nervous.”
When detectives told him they thought he understood why they were there, he reportedly panicked after initially denying any knowledge of the sexual actions.
He allegedly started repeating, “I’m done, I’m dead,” repeatedly. According to the records, he then pleaded with the officers to kill him, saying, “I need to die.”
He gave the following response when questioned why he committed the crimes: “I do it to let off steam.”
His indecent behaviors, according to the documents, go back at least to 2014.
According to fox43.com, he allegedly used an electronic tablet to record himself performing the activities.
Investigation into the case is ongoing.
