The discussion around the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers has been reopened by former prime minister Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Friday at a Thanksgiving gathering hosted by Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in Yatta, Machakos County, Raila said that the servers had been rigged in favor of William Ruto, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance candidate at the time.
As the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, Raila asserted that at least 2000 hackers had been paid to tamper with the results of the 2022 General Election in order to support the assertion that Ruto had won.
In order for Kenyans to see the results, which he alleges were rigged in Ruto’s favor, the former premier emphasized that the IEBC servers must be made public.
“We demanded that the servers be made accessible. We learned that they have 2,000 young people working to alter the data on those systems. We are watching them, we recognize them, and we want to let them know that if they play with us, there will be repercussions, Raila said.
