If you want to destroy your career, apply to be an IEBC Chairman or Commissioner, cautions former IEBC Chairman ISSACK HASSAN.

Issack Hassan, former Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), has stated that the commission is a “graveyard” for people’s careers and reputations.

Hassan remarked on Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange Live on Wednesday that working in public service is always an honor, but not when you’re on the electoral commission.

He compared becoming IEBC chairman to drinking from a poisoned chalice and not coming out alive.

According to the former chief of the electoral commission, serving in that capacity may be lonely because he couldn’t even confide in someone for fear of everything he said being taken out of context.

“Working in public office is always a privilege and an honor, but working on the electoral commission is even more so.” “It almost feels like a thankless job,” Hassan remarked.

“Being a chairman of the commission is very stressful, and it can be lonely at the top at times because you don’t have many people to confide in.” Anything you do or say has the potential to be misconstrued.

“I believe it has been turned into a graveyard for careers and reputations, and the commission’s chairman is a poisoned chalice.” If you take it, you will not survive,” he said.
