An accused stalker was apprehended after allegedly waiting outside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Montecito home late at night.
Before calling the local police, a security guard at the $14 million (£11 million) California residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly placed the man under citizen’s arrest.
A representative for the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office informed TMZ that they received a call from security personnel on Monday at around 2am.
According to the publication, 29-year-old Kevin Garcia Valdovinos was arrested by a citizen at the couple’s property’s entry.
Police arrived, took the man into custody, charged him with misdemeanor stalking, and then released him on bond.
According to the law Valdovinos was arrested for, this was not the first time he had broken this rule.
According to TMZ, he was unsuccessful in entering the building, and security arrested him as a result of something he told them.
The whereabouts of Harry and Meghan’s two young children, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 1, at the time of the arrest were unknown.
Last night, the couple was in New York City for the Ms Foundation Women of Vision Awards, where Meghan received the 2023 honor for her worldwide work to support and advocate for women and girls.
In 2020, the couple and their one-year-old son Archie relocated into the posh Montecito area. They paid $14.5 million (£11 million) for the opulent 18,000 square foot house that sits on 5.4 acres of land.
Police had been called to the residence nine times in as many months, it was discovered a year later.
Even over Christmas, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office made two visits to the Sussexes’ house to remove a trespasser who had come there from Ohio.
In that period, the alarm system for the building had also gone off five times.
