Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio movement, has defiantly stated that his protests against President William Ruto’s government will go ahead as planned, despite the State declaring them illegal.

Raila has directed his supporters to take to the streets twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, to protest President William Ruto’s government and the country’s high cost of living.

Raila stated yesterday in Imara Daima, Nairobi, when addressing protestors in the city estate, that Kenyans have reached a point of no return and that neither he nor his supporters will call off the demonstrations, even if it means clashing with authorities.

“Nipigwe teke, nitupiwe teargas, nifungwe pingu, sitarudi nyuma.” Raila stated, “Nipelekwe jela na hata Ruto apinge sisi, hatutarudi nyuma.”

According to the Opposition Leader, he and his supporters are true Kenyan patriots who will continue to protest until the State addresses the issues affecting the common mwananchi.

“Sisi si wajinga, na sisi si wendawazimu, ilhali sisi ni Wakenya wazalendo wanaotaka Kenya ikombolewe.” Wakenya ibadilike na Tunataka Kenya wasidhulumiwe. Raila stated, “Pia tunataka mabadiliko ya kikatiba na server ifunguliwe.”

Following Monday’s and last week’s demonstrations, yesterday marked the third round of anti-government protests.
