Tessie Mudavadi, the wife of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, took over the newly constituted Office of the Spouse of the Prime Cabinet Secretary after her husband launched it yesterday.
Tessie was given four main responsibilities in her newly established government position, one of which was to concentrate on enhancing the lives of children and families.
Mudavadi’s spouse will also promote programs that help the elderly and those with disabilities live with dignity.
“The office is committed to advancing health with a focus on maternity and child healthcare in order to promote the wellbeing of Kenyan citizens.
Mudavadi declared, “Promote the improvement of sanitation as well as environmental conservation.”
It was mentioned that Tessie’s function will support the work being done by the Office of the First Lady and other government entities on various programs.
In part, the government’s announcement read, “The Office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary was established to complement the work being done by the Office of the First Lady and the Office of the Spouse to the Vice President.”
While Pastor Dorcas Rigathi had been focusing on issues impacting the boychild, First Lady Rachel Ruto had been focusing on the economic empowerment of women through various projects including table banking.
Mercy Wanjau, the secretary to the cabinet, highlighted the significance of the position for Kenyans who were dealing with numerous socioeconomic issues.
She also commended Tessie for her idea that intended to make society’s citizens’ lives better.
