Deputy President William Ruto has been issued a challenge by Azimio, a supporter of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, to become president if he is strong enough.
This comes after Ruto asserted that he had appointed Uhuru Kenyatta president in 2013 and 2017.
Ruto claimed that he installed Uhuru Kenyatta as president and that the Azimio team was completely unaware of how they accomplished it.
However, Azimio has dared the DP to make himself the president in the same manner that he allegedly made Uhuru Kenyatta the president through ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna.
Sifuna asserts that if the ballot had been different and Kenyatta had not been in charge, it’s possible that the turnout in Mount Kenya and the outcome would have been different.
He said it was sad that his Deputy was spewing such hate speech on Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Mount Kenya supported Jubilee in 2013 purely because President Uhuru was listed first. We want to see Ruto formally assume the presidency as he has promised to do for President Uhuru.
“Eating is how the pudding is proved. We want Ruto to succeed Uhuru as president in 2022 as he has promised to do.
“Why the hatred and animosity directed at the President? They have portrayed him as being lethargic, unmotivated, and just being forced to perform a task in which he had no interest. It’s awful that your deputy is spewing such hate,”he stated
