On Sunday, Kakamega Catholic Bishop Joseph Obanyi gave the ongoing political rivalry between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Vice President, William Ruto, a fresh twist.
Recently, a contentious disagreement between Uhuru and his deputy has turned into a verbal battle.
After the church service, Obanyi announced to the media that attempts to bring Uhuru and Ruto back together had failed miserably.
Prior to the election, Obanyi urged peace and unity and stated the two candidates should stop publicly criticizing one another.
Obanyi claims that the church made an effort to mediate their issues, but that effort has not yet been successful.
