According to a survey by Radio Africa Group, William Ruto, the presidential candidate for the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, is making historic gains in Nairobi County and may soon surpass former prime minister Raila Odinga, who is currently the de facto ruler of Nairobi County.
In a survey done by Radio Africa last month, Raila received 52% of the vote in Nairobi, while Ruto received only 29.1%.
However, the most recent survey conducted by the same media outlet shows that Raila has slipped by 2% and is now at 50% while Ruto has increased by 12% in the past month to reach 41 percent.
Prof. George Luchiri Wajackoyah, a presidential candidate for the Roots Party, is up to 5% from 3.2 percent last month. 4 percent of voters remain undecided.
According to the poll, the Deputy President is running a successful campaign and may defeat Raila Odinga in August.
