Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is the candidate to beat on August 9th, according to a recent Nakuru County opinion poll.
The Nakuru county inhabitants were asked to choose between Raila Odinga, the Azimio-One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate, William Ruto, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate, and Prof. George Wajackoyah, the Roots Party presidential candidate, in a mock election held by KTN News.
50 of the more than 69 participants in the poll stated they would vote for Raila Odinga, while 10 said they would vote for Prof. Wajackoyah.
In August, only 9 people endorsed DP Ruto for president.
Kipchumba Murkomen, a senator for Elgeyo Marakwet, commented on social media following the poll and rejected the results, insisting that it was stage-managed.
Murkomen expressed his displeasure with the findings on Facebook, claiming the polls were made up. He also criticized the TV network for its alleged bias.
“KTN is an embarrassment. The fact that the owner is in Azimio doesn’t give you the Licence to carry out stage-managed polls. In fact, the presenter’s body language clearly betrays him. Just before that poll, the presenter was interviewing people and when one said “UDA” he became so agitated.
“Look at the celebrations after. Stop the gimmicks and stick to your role as a media house away from the owner’s political stand,” Murkomen wrote on his social media page.
KTN is owned by KANU Chairman Gideon Moi who is the number one enemy of DP Ruto.
