Moses Kuria, the Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Investment, has promoted his personal friend to a key state position in what can be described as an unpleasant case of nepotism.
As a member of the Kenya Development Corporation (KDC) Board of Directors, Faith Mwaura previously served as Kuria’s running mate in the Kiambu county governor’s race.
Kuria named Mwaura to the KDC board for a three-year term in a Gazette Notice dated June 15, 2023.
The Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and Industry appoints Faith Mwaura to the Board of Directors of the Kenya Development Corporation for a term of three (3) years beginning on June 16, 2023, in accordance with the authority granted by section 6 (1) le) of the State Corporations Act and section 51 of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act.
Mboche Waithaka is replaced by Mwaura since his appointment was terminated.
