Azimio Speaking out during significant legislative discussions, Moses Wetangula, the speaker of the National Assembly, has been threatened with impeachment by one Kenya Alliance member of parliament.
The legislators declared on Thursday that they will bring an impeachment move to the House floor the following week if the Speaker did not approve their choice to de-whip nominated MP Sabina Chege as the Deputy Minority Whip.
“We have chosen to submit an impeachment resolution against Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula first and foremost.
The motion is being written; it will be ready by Tuesday of the following week. And as is customary, we will ask him to give that motion priority so that we can dismiss it as soon as possible, said Wandayi.
The Ugunja MP further claimed that Wetangula was compromised as a result of his membership in the Kenya Kwanza alliance.
“This House cannot be conducted in the way that it is being run to produce the outcomes that it is intended to produce. The Ugunja MP continued, “We believe it is run by the wrong leadership.
