President William Ruto’s appointment of Kipchumba Murkomen as the Transport Cabinet Secretary is one of many top government officials whose lives have undergone significant change as a result.
Eight months ago, when he was named CS, Murkomen was one of the lawmakers who was having financial difficulties. Now, eight months later, the man from Embubut is flush with cash thanks to kickbacks and cartel money in his expansive ministry.
Murkomen was seen on Wednesday sporting a pair of Philipp Plein sneakers. Instagram users posted pictures of the lawmaker scrolling on his phone while sporting expensive sneakers, a cap, and black jeans.
The shoes, also referred to as “phantom kicks,” are available in white for Sh 84,000 and black for Sh 96,000.
Murkomen was seen sporting a Hublot Classic Fusion Ceramic King Gold watch at the beginning of the year.
The Hublot model starts at slightly over a million, and prices rise with size, according to the watchmaker’s website.
