Richard Onyonka, a senator from Kisii, claims that since President William Ruto was elected, the suffering that hustlers are currently experiencing is merely the result of their own actions.
Onyonka asserted that decisions have consequences and requested that Ruto raise the tax to 100% so that hustlers would learn their lesson.
Because it has been emphasized before, Kenyans need to understand that their decisions do have repercussions, Onyonka remarked, “Let him raise the tax to 100%.”
Onyonka stated in an interview yesterday that the contentious Finance Bill, 2023, will be approved by Parliament regardless of how Kenyans feel about it.
He pointed out that Kenya Kwanza’s majority in the bicameral House will allow Bill to pass easily through Parliament.
He disclosed that despite the Bill’s extreme unpopularity with Kenyans, Ruto has rallied his supporters to pass it.
Why will this Bill pass? The majority is with this team KK (Kenya Kwanza), and the fact and reality are that I’m sure the president is watching what everyone is doing. Why?
“Because he wouldn’t want his wish to ensure that the Bill passed to be denied for the first time. Whether the Bill will be well-liked by Kenyans is unknown at this point, but the President has plans, according to Onyonka.
The senator claims that going forward, Kenyans would evaluate presidential candidates before casting their ballots in order to carefully consider their platforms and how they will impact the cost of living.
“Kenyans will now start to consider a candidate’s platform while casting a ballot. We don’t vote for anything right now. William Ruto is doing what the Kenyan people deserve, according to Onyonka.
