Despite ending a 20-year working connection last year, super agent Jorge Mendes has spoken up about his friendship with Cristiano Ronaldo, stating the two are still “close.”
After a disagreement over his explosive Piers Morgan interview, which caused his painful departure from Manchester United, Ronaldo broke off his relationship with his longtime agent.
Ronaldo, who has been represented by Mendes since 2003, had a falling out with the super agency after last summer’s demands that he sign a contract with Chelsea or Bayern Munich.
Ronaldo ultimately decided to play for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, ending his relationship with Mendes, because the Portuguese businessman was unable to deliver a contract with either team.
