Embattled The inclusion of Pastor Paul Mackenzie in the matter involving the freezing of Pastor Ezekiel Odero’s bank accounts has caused grave alarm among his attorneys.

Pastor Ezekiel’s attorneys, Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta, stated in a statement that they were astonished at the mere suggestion of Pastor Paul Mackenzie in connection with the Shakahola massacre.

They claimed that the DCI misled the court in order to have Pastor Ezekiel’s bank accounts blocked for 30 days despite the fact that he has no connection to Pastor Mackenzie.

“Our client is unrelated to Pastor Mackenzie, in any way. Mavueni Church has nothing to do with Shakahola. For the horrific killings, Mackenzie is under investigation. Shakahola has nothing to do with Pastor Odero. Omari commanded you to open his bank accounts.

The judgment that was served on them specified that the bank accounts should be blocked for 30 days, he informed Milimani magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi.

“We are shocked to hear that this court has revealed that the orders it issued were for 10 days and 30 days,” Omari said to Ekhubi.

According to him, the DCI’s action of using his own order rather than the court’s “puts it in a bad light and portrays it as dishonest.”

The attorney requested that the matter be dismissed so that Pastor Odero could cheerfully withdraw Sh100 million from his bank accounts to support the operations of the 45,000-seat church and the 3,000-student school.

In order to finance church and school operations, the preacher is petitioning with the court to grant him permission to withdraw Sh100 million.

In the lawsuit brought by Omari, Shadrack Wamboi, Martina Suiga, and Samson Nyaberi, the pastor claims that after his accounts were stopped, the church and school came to a complete stop.

The latest evidence suggests that Odero finances the education of more than 3,000 students for between Sh50 million and Sh100 million each month.
