Officials say a US visitor to Rome on vacation dropped 100 feet to his death after ascending to a hotel’s roof in the Italian city.
Javier Francisco Rullan Rubert, 31, was on vacation and was staying at the IH Roma Z3 Hotel in Collatino, Via Claudio Truffi. He is from Lithia in Tampa, Florida.
He fell from the roof on Monday, March 27, at around 4.30 p.m. Hotel staff discovered him lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood.
When he went off the high-rise building’s roof, he was by himself.
As part of their inquiry, police investigators and forensic teams are reconstructing the man’s final days and identifying any contacts he might have made during that period.
Officers have taken some of the man’s personal belongings, including his cellphone, for analysis.
In order to better understand the sequence of events that led to his death, investigators are frantically trying to get in touch with his family because he did not leave a letter for them.
Investigators are leaning toward suicide, but have not excluded out other explanations, according to The Italian Insider.
