The purported goons of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s invasion of Northlands City farm to force former President Uhuru Kenyatta to cease financing Raila Odinga’s weekly demonstrations has sparked outrage among Kiambu leaders.
Former Kahawa Sukari MCA Livingstone Waiganjo issued a statement condemning the invasion and lootings, claiming their efforts to seek for police assistance to stop daylight cattle looting by rogue individuals were futile.
At the same time, Waiganjo disclosed that the invasion and subsequent robbery of the property was uncalled for because the land does not even belong to Uhuru.
The land, he claims, belonged to the founding father, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, and is currently in the hands of Mama Ngina Kenyatta.
He informed the invaders that they had been deceived into believing that the land belonged to Uhuru Kenyatta.
“But this land does not belong to Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta; it belongs to Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, the nation’s founding father, and it is now in the hands of Mama Ngina Kenyatta.” Invading it was not the finest idea. “The precedent is frightening to neighboring villages,” Waiganjo said.
He acknowledged the country’s high political temperatures and urged the government to ensure that all residents are protected despite the protests.
