After concluding investigations into an alleged infringement of intellectual property, the Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) released items valued at Sh50 million to China Square.

According to a statement from the ACA Executive Director Robi Mbugua Njoroge, a Kenyan company that had previously accused China Square of peddling fake Finder Tools retracted its claim.

The request, according to ACA, was issued when it was established that the items confiscated came from the same supplier and global brand owner of Finder Merchandise.

Additionally, the agency only consented to the requirements after carrying out exhaustive investigations.
“The complainant also asked for the products’ release. We can affirm that the items are genuine Finder Tools as a result of the extensive study and source verification that ACA did in light of this new information. As a result, we have given the items to their rightful owner, according to the statement.

Also, ACA warned the general people to stay away from buying fake goods.

“We would want to firmly advise the general public to exercise caution while making purchases in order to prevent being a victim of fake goods. To help safeguard their rights and interests, we further urge people to inform ACA of any suspected instances of fake goods, according to the statement.

Following a complaint from the Kenyan company, Ruto’s administration acted swiftly and seized the products from China Square, which attracted the attention of the Chinese authorities.

Kenyan authorities were instructed by the Chinese government to respect foreigners conducting legitimate business.

Moses Kuria, the Trade Cabinet Secretary, made known that he intended to fire owner Cheng, which caused controversy surrounding China Square.
