Azimio- Raila Odinga, a presidential candidate for the Kenya Alliance, hasn’t decided if he’ll attend the presidential debate tomorrow at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
This follows a message from his campaign spokesman, Prof. Makau Mutua, stating that the elderly man has not yet made up his mind regarding whether or not he will attend the debate.
Raila Odinga will not participate in the debate, according to a statement from Makau on Sunday, because he cannot share the stage with Deputy President William Ruto, whom he described as a “man of doubtful character.”
In response to questioning from reporters on Monday, Makau said they had not yet decided if Raila, the party head of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), will attend the debate.
Makau stated that they have not yet decided whether or not a simultaneous debate will take place in Nairobi’s Jericho Social Hall on Tuesday.
“Let me explain because it needs to be corrected. When the town hall meeting will be held is still up in the air. It might take place the day of the debate or it might not. We haven’t decided yet,” Makau Mutua said.
