President Uhuru Kenyatta got right to work, visiting construction sites while also campaigning for Raila Odinga of the Azimio party in Eastlands.
Yesterday, Uhuru warned Kenyans against being duped into electing egotistical and power-hungry politicians like his Deputy, William Ruto, when speaking in Embakasi.
Instead, he recommended them to vote for candidates like Raila and his running mate, Martha Karua, who are dedicated to improving the common good.
“Avoid being seduced by politicians who are only interested in power for their own benefit and have no regard for the welfare of the general public. I occasionally find it shocking what some leaders publicly state.
When the roads are in good condition, people will stand up and declare, “You can see what our government has done,” but when conditions are poor, they will point to others and declare that the government has failed.
“I wonder how many governments we have now,” you say. As Uhuru said.
In the August elections, the president urged locals to support Rail Odinga, a former prime minister.
“After shaking hands with Raila Odinga, there is peace. I like how they are collaborating with Martha Karua. These are the leaders who can carry on the work in the proper manner.
“I replaced Mzee Kibaki, and I’ve played a part. I haven’t been able to solve every issue, but let’s get to work and make sure that everyone who comes will continue this effort, he remarked.
