Moses Kuria, a Gatundu South Member of Parliament, has projected that Prof George Wajakoyah, the presidential candidate of the Roots Party, will force a presidential run-off in August.
Wajackoyah’s platform calls for increased revenue from bhang production as well as the legalization of marijuana use in Kenya.
Despite the fact that Wajackoyah was not a danger in a recent opinion poll conducted by Infotrak, Kuria said his campaign was gaining traction among Kenyans.
“George Wajackoyah’s candidacy could force Kenya’s first presidential run-off. On his Facebook page, Kuria, a supporter of Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential ambition, wrote: “This needs to be proclaimed a national crisis and emergency.”
Wajakoyah, a scholar with more than ten degrees from Kenya, the United States, and the United Kingdom, has also stated that he plans to introduce snake farming to assist pay off China’s loans.
Kenya’s debt to China climbed by 5.8% in June 2021, from KSh 719.4 billion in 2020 to KSh 761.2 billion in June 2021.
