There was drama in the open after renegade drivers and conductors nearly lynched traffic police personnel who had been sent in to deal with unroadworthy matatus.
Robert Alai posted a video of the police officers fleeing for their lives after being attacked by rogue matatu conductors and drivers.
They chased the policemen with stones, chanting “Ua wao” (kill them).
Alai has denounced the brutal assault on the law enforcement officials and warned that it will be nasty if the police are sent back as retaliation and to establish their authority.
“Nobody should enable any law enforcement team to experience this. Why do you act this way? You are aware that the cops will return to this region with a vengeance to establish their dominance. Here, crack units will be stationed. Who will be the losers? After posing, Alai posted the video.
