On June 7, former US Vice President Mike Pence will hold a rally in Des Moines to officially begin his presidential campaign.

Pence has been working on his presidential campaign for months and is generally expected to begin his bid for the Republican nomination.

He has made frequent trips to Iowa and will join more than a dozen other presidential hopefuls this weekend at U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst’s annual Roast and Ride fundraiser before making his official campaign debut.

According to the source, Iowa’s significance in determining the future course of the Republican Party is reflected in the choice to launch the campaign with a rally in Des Moines.

Pence acknowledged Iowa’s “outsized role in forming our nation’s leadership” during a May 24 rally in Ottumwa.

Pence addressed the small group of Wapello County Republicans by saying, “I honestly think that the choice that we will make for a standard bearer in our party has perhaps never been more important.” “I do think that different leadership is required for various periods.

Pence intends to spend a lot of time campaigning in Iowa, concentrating on in-person interactions with voters to introduce himself and discuss his beliefs and personal values. According to the source, he intends to campaign in all 99 of Iowa’s counties.

The former vice president joins a swelling field of Republican candidates, including his former employer, former President Donald Trump, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy. Next week, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie is also anticipated to enter the race.

Pence, an Indiana native, has hinted at running for president in 2024 for months, and he will likely attend Sen. Joni Ernst’s forthcoming Roast & Ride event this weekend.

In addition to his four years as governor of Indiana, he spent 12 years in the US House of Representatives.
