Having escaped to Russia, a woman who accused US Vice President Joe Biden of sexual assault is now applying for citizenship there.
In the 2020 presidential campaign, Tara Reade, 59, came out with claims that Biden had harassed and abused her sexually in 1993 while he was a senator and she worked in his office.
After Biden declared his 2024 reelection campaign, Reade restated his denial of the accusations. Reade received death threats after tweeting that she would “testify under oath in Congress if asked.”
She visited Russia very recently, on Tuesday, May 30. Maria Butina, a convicted Kremlin agent, was seated next to Reade, who spoke candidly about her’very tough’ decision to travel there.
‘I’m still a little bit in a trance, but I feel really wonderful,’ the former United States Senate staffer said of his current state in Russia.
She told the Russian state news agency Sputnik, “I just didn’t want to walk home and walk into a cage or be killed, which was really my two choices.”

“And from what I could see based on the cases and based on what was going on and sort of the push for them to not want me to testify, I felt that while this election is gearing up and there’s so much at stake, I’m almost better off here and just being safe,” she continued. Added Reade.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will be urged to expedite Reade’s citizenship application, according to convicted Kremlin snitch Maria Butina, who was sentenced to 18 months in an American prison for working as an unregistered Russian foreign agent.
“I’m sorry right now that American elites are choosing to have such an aggressive stance,” Reade stated to her “Russian brothers and sisters.” Just remember that the majority of Americans do desire friendship and desire to see our country united once more.
She continued by saying that she is ‘enjoying’ her stay in Moscow and feels’very at home’.
My dream is to live in both places, but it’s good if I only live in this one, said Reade.
