After three young children and three adults were killed in a school shooting, US President Joseph Biden ordered flags at the White House and all federal buildings to be flown at half-staff until sunset on March 31.

Biden stated in a written statement that he made the decision “out of respect for the victims of the horrible acts of violence occurred on March 27, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee.”

“I further direct that the flag be flown at half-staff for the same period of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad,” he added.

After the shooting, Biden told reporters that it was “a family’s greatest nightmare,” and he reiterated his plea for Congress to approve an assault weapons prohibition.

The directive is a show of respect for the victims of the Nashville school shooting, which killed three students and three staff members on Monday, March 27.

Audrey Hale, 28, opened fire on three kids and three teachers at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, just before 10.30 a.m. yesterday. Audrey, a transsexual woman who also went by the name ‘Aiden,’ was later shot and killed by police.
