Officially, Paris Hilton is a mother.
On February 24, the 41-year-old businesswoman startled her followers by revealing that she and her husband Carter Reum had quietly welcomed a baby boy via surrogacy.
“You are already loved beyond words,” she said in the caption of a snapshot of his tiny hand in hers.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Hilton said, “It’s always been my ambition to be a mother and I’m so pleased that Carter and I found each other.”
“Our hearts are bursting with love for our baby boy,” they said, “and we are so delighted to start our family together.”
Reum, 40, already has a 10-year-old daughter with reality actress Laura Bellizzi; this is Hilton’s first child.
The Simple Life star revealed this month that she began in vitro fertilization (IVF) in the middle of 2020, before Reum even proposed.
She was recently compelled to provide an update on their IVF process after her mother Kathy Hilton claimed the couple was having trouble becoming pregnant.
After being questioned by TMZ about her mother’s remark, Hilton responded, “I have plenty of embryos that are waiting, we’ve been storing up on a lot of them.”
