Pictures of first- and second-year students being formally welcomed into their department on Tuesday, April 25, at a university in Nigeria have gone viral.
The students are depicted in the photographs wearing clothing that represents them as chief priests and priestesses.
The university posted the images with the caption to its Facebook page;
“Congratulations to the Department of Theatre Arts students at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Anambra State on their initiation and induction into the Department at the 100- and 200-level levels. The Department of Theatre Arts at the institution is renowned for providing academic programs and hands-on training in a variety of cultural and theatrical disciplines. Today, the Department’s anticipated initiation took place. The Department is thought of as a family. Once again, Congratulations to the Inductees!!”
