The Milimani court has ordered a middle-aged woman to pay her boyfriend Ksh 23, 750 after he sent her Ksh 3,000 to cover the cost of a cab to attend his birthday but did not show up and turned off her phone.
The court mandated that she pay back the Ksh 3,000 he sent her along with Ksh 750 in interest.
She was also fined Ksh 20,000 as compensation for the emotional suffering she caused him.
Following the decision, the man was ecstatic while the woman sobbed and criticized the magistrate for the severe punishment.
