WETANGULA will regret protecting SABINA CHEGE, as RAILA’s Azimio threatens to impeach him next week for being compromised.

Azimio, a supporter of former Kenyan leader Raila Odinga, has vowed to remove Moses Wetangula as speaker of the National Assembly.

He did this after deciding to defend Deputy Minority Whip Sabina Chege from Azimio, which had de-whipped her due to her nomination by the Jubilee party.

Wetangula’s decision said that Sabina Chege would continue to hold the position of Deputy Minority Whip.

This comes after Chege made a heartfelt plea to Wetangula to spare her from the wrath of former Presidents Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila, who had expelled her from the leadership of the parliamentary body for siding with President William Ruto.

And now, Azimio members have pledged to bring an impeachment resolution to the House floor the following week if the Speaker doesn’t support their decision to remove Chege as whip.

Minority Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi stated, “We have decided that first and foremost to launch a resolution of impeachment against the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula.

The motion is being written; it will be ready by Tuesday of the following week. And we will ask him to give that motion priority in accordance with custom so that we can dismiss it as soon as feasible.

The Ugunja MP claimed the Speaker was unfit for the role because he was compromised by his ties to the Kenya Kwanza administration.

“This House cannot be conducted in the way that it is being run to produce the outcomes that it is intended to produce. The Ugunja MP continued, “We believe it is run by the wrong leadership.

The Azimio lawmakers claim that Wetangula’s failure to de-whip Chege and replace her with MP Mark Mwanje of Embakasi West is an attempt to undermine their alliance and impose leadership upon them.

According to Kathiani MP Robert Mbui, “the main issue is because of a decision that has been made by the Speaker. Not now, but he has previously given the impression that he intends to use the majority to impose leadership on the Minority.”
